I spent much of June traveling in South Africa. Mostly I went for the International Confederation of Midwives Triennial Council meeting and Congress. There were about 3000 midwives from all over the world attending. It was quite powerful to see so many women, from so many different places and life experiences all in one space, sharing stories about themselves, women and babies. I am planning to write more and share pictures as time allows.
The day I was flying back, my dear friend and client Lisa had her third baby. I was so hoping to make it back for her birth, as I helped her have her other babies, Lily and Grey as well. But alas, Little Bonnie did not want to wait. Her birth did not occur as everyone had planned, she was born by c/section. We are happy she is healthy and thriving, as you can see in these pictures.
