My October Travels

October is always traveling month for me as I have the Midwives Alliance (MANA) annual conference and board meeting to attend. Because of this, I rarely help people have babies in October, which is unfortunate because it is such a nice month to be born in. This past month I had the good fortune to not only go the the MANA conference, but also the Canadian Association of Midwives (CAM) conference in Edmonton, Alberta. Next year, in November 2011, I am helping plan a joint North America conference with MANA and CAM in collaboration with ACNM. Pictured above are the representatives from each organization, from left to right,
Ann Wilson, incoming CAM president, Christy Tashjian (me), MANA 2nd VP, Gisela Becker, CAM outgoing president, and Holly Kennedy, ACNM president. We are all looking forward to working together to help increase access to midwifery care through education and collaboration. I am sure you will be hearing more about it as the months pass.

My next few following posts though will be about the 2010 MANA conference in Franklin, Tennessee....
