We experienced a wonderful unintentional unassisted homebirth last night. It was such a blessing for our little family. It was quite an intense and powerful experience for my husband and I and for our 2 year old son as well. My husband and I were not afraid and worked very well together getting this baby out and getting her to breathe and breastfeed. And our son did a wonderful job of not being afraid or concerned, but instead he was joyous and delightfully bounced around us as I pushed the baby out. The midwives arrived a little while later and were great about helping get us cleaned up and cared for. Then my family arrived a while after that to help welcome the new member into the family. Overall it was a wonderful experience!
