As I walked the labrynth, I started thinking about my cleints due in the next few months, Jax, Stephanie, Katrina, Kori, and Stacy....about how I am envisioning empowering, peaceful births for them and how blessed I feel to be able help them birth their babies.

In San Francisco
I am in San Francisco visiting my sister midwives here in the Bay Area before the upcoming Midwives Alliance board meeting and conference. Today I enjoyed a little ritual that some of the midwives and childbirth educators here invite their pregnant clients to participate in if they wish. We met at the amazingly beautiful Grace Cathedral on Nob Hill and walked the labrynth together. It was a beautiful little ceremony that involved being annointed with rose oil and a small drop of flower essence called "support and unconditional love" before beginning the walking meditation. If you are interested, you can read a little about walking the labrynth if you are not sure what it is. The pregnant mamas who came were between 28 and 39 1/2 weeks.
